World record holder?

Who set the world record for the tallest and shortest people and how tall were they?|||umm the tallest person is some eastern-european man. Hes 8 foot or something. I know hes the tallest man living, but i dont know if hes the tallest person who has ever lived. I dont know about the shortest person.
