Physics conversion problems help!? 9th grade science.?

i cant figure these out.

i know:

rate=distance/time

distance=rate x time

time=distance/rate

help me answer any or all of these questions and show your work and explain your steps please! thank you very much:)

dylan drove to the beach, which is one hundred thirty-six kilometers away, at forty-eitht kph. He drove home the next day at sixty kph. How many hours in total did Dylan spend driving?

christian drove to thebeach, which is one hundres twelve kilometers away, at 50 kph. he drove home the next day at 60 kph. what was his average speed for the round trip?

usain bolt is also the world record holder for the mens 200m sprint. his record time is 19.19 seconds. what is his average speed in miles per hour?

the peregrine falcon is the fastest animal on the planet reaching speeds of up to 200 miles per hour. how many feet would it travel if it flies at this speed for 10 seconds?|||1.) On Dylan's trip to the beach, he drives 136 km away at 48 km/h. The next day, he drives back home also at 136 km (because the distance from the beach back to home is the same distance as home to the beach). He drives at 60 km/h back home. First you can find the time it took Dylan to go to the beach. Then you can find the amount of time for Dylan to return home. Finally you can add both times up and determine how long Dylan spent driving.

Home to beach:

Distance = rate*time

time = distance/rate

time = 136 km / (48 km/h)

time = 2.83 hours

Let's call this time1

time1 = 2.83 hours

Beach to home:

Distance = rate*time

time = distance / rate

time = 136 km / (60 km/h)

time = 2.27 hours

Let's call this time2

time2 = 2.27 hours

So the amount of time Dylan spent driving is the sum of time1 and time2:

Driving time = time1+time2

Driving time = 2.83 hours + 2.27 hours

==%26gt;Driving time = 5.10 hours

2.) This is similar to the first problem. On Christian's trip to the beach, he drives 112 km away at 50 km/h. The next day, he drives back home also at 112 km (because the distance from the beach back to home is the same distance as the home to the beach). He drives at 60 km/h back home. First you can find the time it took Christian to go to the beach. Then you can find the amount of time for Christian to return home. Finally you can add both times up and determine how long Christian spent driving.

Home to beach:

Distance = rate*time

time = distance/rate

time = 112 km / (50 km/h)

time = 2.24 hours

Let's call this time1

time1 = 2.24 hours

Beach to home:

Distance = rate*time

time = distance / rate

time = 112 km / (60 km/h)

time = 1.87 hours

Let's call this time2

time2 = 1.87 hours

So the amount of time Christian spent driving is the sum of time1 and time2:

Driving time = time1+time2

Driving time = 2.24 hours + 1.87 hours

Driving time = 4.11 hours

By definition:

Average speed = total distance / total time

Average speed = (112 km + 112 km) / 4.11 hours

==%26gt;Average speed = 54.5 km/h

3.) Using the same definition for average speed:

Average speed = total distance / total time

He sprints a total distance of 200 m in a total time of 19.19 seconds. So, his average speed in m/s is:

Average speed = 200 m / 19.19 seconds

Average speed = 10.42 m/s

To convert to miles per hour (mph), multiply by 2.24 because 1 m/s is about 2.24 mph

==%26gt;Average speed = 23.3 mph (That's QUICK!!!!)

4.) The falcon has a speed of 200 miles per hour and travels at this speed in 10 seconds. To determine how far it has gone in this time:

Distance = rate*time

Distance = (200 miles per hour) * 10 seconds

But 10 seconds = 0.0027778 hours

Distance = (200 miles per hour) * 0.0027778 hours

Distance = 0.5556 miles

Since 1 mile = 5280 feet

==%26gt;Distance = 2933.3 feet

(\(\

(='.')

o(_")")|||Answer 1.

While going to the beach time spent driving = 136 / 48 = 2.83 hrs (approx)

While coming back home time spent driving = 136 / 60 = 2.27 hrs (approx)

Total Time taken driving = 5.10
