Why has the disappearance of the 100 plus world record holder Steve Fossett been completely forgotten?

Especially when he was the best friend of Sir Richard Branson and was due to fly on the second flight of the Virgin Galactic space program. Forgotten so quickly for an American hero. The suspicion cells in my brain are over-reacting.|||I think they just gave up. If he was alive he would've turned up by now and there's only so much money that they can spend looking for one person, even if he is a hero.|||Who ???|||Oh yes, I'd forgotten about him. He's a gonner then.|||I guess there's nothing they can do if he's disappeared. He's obviously dead and the body will have gone by now due to animals.|||Funnily enough (or not under the circumstances) I had a discussion about him less than a month ago.....we couldn't work out why he did not have a tracking system or more regimented search grid system in place.|||Because Americans have the attention span of a dead cat.

Brittney is much more interesting.|||Probably because it hasn't.

Quite a few plane crash sites were found during the search.

It is thought that the ambiguities of his course and the maximum area that he could have ended up in, is such that considering the size of the plane and the possibility of the aircraft being obscured by rocks, sands, brush ,water etc it might remain unfound by even more extensives searches.
