Ok so rubik's cube people, what is the deal here?

if there isnt one big algorithm to solve the whole thing at once, how can anyone possibly solve it in seconds like all thos world record holders?? i can do it in like 2 minutes at fastest|||Simple... they turn it fast, and use less looks. The fridrich method uses seven looks at most. Using 52 moves on average, people will use 4.5 moves per second. They use a lot of intuition, but when they go through all of the cases (for each step, not for the whole cube) then they get so used to it that they will always solve it quickly.|||ok, these are the steps of the advanced method that most of the speedcubers use (like me) ... called the Fridrich Method

1. cross

you probably know this step and it done by the best in about 1-3 seconds, this vid shows how to get the cross really fast - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hY_FbpdNR鈥?/a> ... i think i already gave you that link in your other Q, whatever

2. F2L

this is getting the first 2 layers of the cube all finished (there are 3 layers on a cube) ... you group up 2 pieces at a time and insert them into the slots next to the cross, hard to explain, just search a vid on that ... this is usually done in 6 or more seconds by the best, not me

3. OLL

now you are on the last layer (3 layers on a cube) ... ok, pretend you got your cross on white, you would be looking at the yellow side in this part ... OLL will get all yellows facing up on that last face, not in their correct spots though, this only takes one algorithm, but you have to memorize 57 different cases - http://badmephisto.dyndns.org/site/ollpa鈥?/a> ... this takes practically no time, like 2 seconds or less

4. PLL

this will fix all of those last layer pieces that are just switched around (even though yellow is facing up) ... 21 of these - http://www.cubewhiz.com/pll.html ... this is another 2 seconds

so that is how its done

my best time is currently 20.53 seconds, but im learning the 57 OLLs right now, after i get these down, my times will be better ... i have around 38/57 memorized, but i have to think about the algorithms for some ... the best speedcubers naturally dont even have to think about what moves to do, they just do it, some crazy stuff

you better give me best answer for your 3 questions, ive spent alot of time on these, haha
